Android 8 (人造人間８号 Jinzōningen Hachi-Gō), who goes by the name Eighter (ハッチャン Hacchan) as suggested by Goku, is Dr. Gero’s eighth Android creation. He is designed to serve the Red Ribbon Army but is seen as faulty because of his good-spirited nature.
Appearance
Android 8 is a android that takes on the form of a large, stocky man resembling Frankenstein’s monster — whom he is presumably based off, with short dark blue hair, a large cylindrical cranium, thick brows, no visible eyebrows, large oval eyes with small pupils, a wide nose, a large jaw, and two stitched scars: one across his forehead, and the other on his left cheek. In Dragon Ball he wears a pale blue sweater underneath a navy blue suit, white socks and black loafers. In Dragon Ball Z, he wears a a green and yellow fur jacket over his suit. In Dragon Ball GT and The Path to Power he wears an orange sweater underneath a teal suit, which in turn is worn under a sheepskin waistcoat. Underneath his clothes, he wears a pair of blue boxer shorts.
Personality
Despite his brutish, menacing appearance, Android 8 is actually a kind, good-natured, placid, docile, and peaceful individual who detests violence, refusing to follow the cruel orders of Ninja Murasaki and General White, which leads to them berating him as a «failure». However, despite his pacifistic nature, Android 8 would fight when angered, as seen when he punched General White out of the Muscle Tower after he had shot Goku.
In Attack of the Saiyans, Android 8 is temporarily brainwashed by General White which alters his personality turning him into a mindless brute that follows White’s orders to the point of even attacking his old friend Goku and the Dragon Team alongside General White though he defeated which frees him of White’s control causing him to revert back to his original personality.

Background
The activation of Android 8
Android 8 is the eighth of the Red Ribbon Androids created by Dr. Gero. Android 8 was an entirely artificial construct.[2]
In anime filler, it is said that Android 8 was a Human-type Earthling[3][4] who died and was resurrected as a human-based model android by Dr. Flappe on the orders of General White.[5]
To solve the discrepancy of Android 8’s creator, Daizenshuu 7 suggests that Dr. Flappe and Dr. Gero were colleagues both involved with Android 8’s construction.
Dragon Ball
Red Ribbon Army Saga

Android 8 and Goku during the Red Ribbon Army Saga
Being released from his cell, Android 8 is introduced by Ninja Murasaki, who intends to use him against Goku, after he and his brothers failed to defeat the much stronger Goku. However, 8 refuses to battle the child. When Murasaki threatens to detonate 8 via a remote control, Goku knocks the trigger out of his hand and knocks out Ninja Murasaki. Goku nicknames Android 8 «Eighter» (Hat-chan), and he becomes Goku’s friend. When General White threatens the android with an ultimatum: kill Goku or the Jingle Village Chief will be shot, Goku decides to stop the torment by turning his back so that White may shoot him unopposed, and White shoots Goku, seemingly killing him. After witnessing his first friend get hurt, an enraged Android 8 punches White clean out of Muscle Tower’s uppermost window. Afterward, Android 8 proceeds to destroy Muscle Tower, putting an end to at least part of the evil Red Ribbon Army. After eliminating the Army contingent in Jingle Village, 8 reveals that he discovered the Dragon Ball that the army was looking for and hid it, knowing that they intended to kill the villagers once it was found. Hearing this, the head of the village invites 8 to live among them, which he accepts.
Android 8 with Suno
Before Goku leaves the village, Goku, Android 8, and Suno set out to remove the Android Bomb implanted in Android 8’s chest. Suno informs Goku that they should visit Dr. Flappe, an expert in machines. After a brief confrontation with Ninja Murasaki, Dr. Flappe successfully removes the bomb.[6]
King Piccolo Saga

Android 8 is seen again when he goes to rescue Suno after she falls victim to King Piccolo’s assault on King Castle. Android 8’s appearance in «Lost and Found» was his last appearance in the Dragon Ball anime.

Android 8’s appearance in Dragon Ball Z
Android 8 makes cameo appearances throughout Dragon Ball Z, the most prominent being during the Kid Buu Saga, when Goku is forming a Spirit Bomb and 8, along with his fellow villagers, supplies Goku with his energy to use against Kid Buu. The fact that he is alive at this time proves that completely artificial life can be revived by the Dragon Balls, as he appears to have been revived along with Earth’s inhabitants after the planet’s destruction by Buu.

Android 8 is very briefly seen in episode 40 of Dragon Ball GT, where he is transported off of Earth by Super Saiyan 4 Goku before it explodes due to the Black Star Dragon Balls.

Android 8 at the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters
Android 8 appears in the The Path to Power, which is a retelling of the early Dragon Ball story altered for theatrical purposes. Android 8 is first seen in Muscle Tower under the control of General White, who orders Android 8 to attack Goku, to which he does. Later, however, Android 8 comes to his emotional feelings and does not want to attack the boy, thus, General White deems Android 8 «a failure», and a waste of the millions of dollars spent on designing him. Goku manages to defeat General White with his Power Pole, saving Android 8’s life before White can blow him up with his self-destruct device. Android 8 and Goku later play in the snow, where Goku names Android 8 «Eighter», delighting the latter. When Goku offers Eighter the chance to join him and his friends on their quest for the Dragon Balls, Eighter decides instead to stay behind and report the RRA members near the tower to the police. One major plot change is that Android 8 is later destroyed by the newly titled Commander Black of the «Black Ribbon Army» at the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters, which causes Goku to snap and push himself into a severely powered up state, allowing him to destroy the giant Battle Jacket that Black is inside, which ultimately kills Black.
After Commander Black is defeated, Goku uses the Dragon Balls to wish Android 8 back to life with the bomb inside of him removed.
Battle of Gods

Android 8 appears in the prologue when the narrator recaps the adventures and rigorous battles fought by Goku and his friends along with their journey to collect the 7 Dragon Balls to make a wish to Shenron whenever they needed them.

Attack of the Saiyans
Main article: Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans
In Attack of the Saiyans, Eighter finds one of the Dragon Balls near Penguin Village. Unfortunately, General White survived Android 8’s punch and returns to the ruins of Muscle Tower with other Red Ribbon Army members who survived the army’s defeat. They manage to capture Android 8 who is brainwashed to serve the Red Ribbon Army.
However thankfully, Goku had been temporarily revived by Fortuneteller Baba to assist the Dragon Team in collecting the Dragon Balls to revive him to confront the Saiyans. The Dragon Radar leads them to Muscle Tower, where Goku reunites with Suno who informs him of what happened to Eighter and he resolves to save his friend and stop the Red Ribbon Army’s plans once more. General White orders Android 8 to fight the Dragon Team alongside him in an attempt to take revenge on Goku. However neither is a match for Goku and his friends who have been training to confront the Saiyans.
Defeated, Android 8 is freed and reverts to his original personality. After giving the Dragon Ball to Goku and his friends, Eighter returns with Suno to continue his peaceful life in Jingle Village.
Kakarot

Android 8 during his reunion with Goku in Kakarot
In Kakarot, Android 8 appears in the East Ravine Area during the Saiyan Saga Episode 2 when Goku and Piccolo travel to the region while following the Dragon Radar to find his brother Raditz who had abducted his nephew Gohan to force Goku to exterminate the Earthling population.
If Goku speaks to him, this leads to the Sub Story «Gentle Giant«. The introduction cutscene that triggers when Goku speaks to him, his in-game moniker is Kindhearted Android and he is identified by his nickname Eighter.

Goku is surprised to see his old friend who recognizes the now adult Goku. Goku asks what he’s doing in East Ravine and Eighter explains that he heard that some of the Red Ribbon Army’s RR Mech Soldiers had been rampaging in the region and came to stop them. However he notes he dislikes fighting and so Goku who loves to fight offers to take care of the Rampaging Robots for his old friend which Eighter agrees to.
After destroying the robots, Goku returns and informs Android 8 who is relieved that the robots can no longer hurt anyone. Completing this Sub Story, rewards Goku with Eighter’s Soul Emblem for the Community Boards.
Additionally afterwards, Eighter can be encountered in certain areas during different points in the story.
- Intermission 1
During the first Intermission after the Saiyan Saga, Android 8 can be found visiting the farm near the lake Fish Spot in the West Area of Earth where Gingertown and West City are located.
- Frieza Saga & Intermission 2
During the Frieza Saga Episode 1 and second Intermission after the Frieza Saga, Android 8 can be found near on a stone land bridge near the dinosaur research facility in East Ravine Area. If spoken to, he reveals he’s taking pictures of various locations he is visiting to show to Suno after he returns to Bells Village.
- Cell Saga
During the Android conflict, Android 8 can be found in Bells Village located near Darlinge Polynya in the Northern Mountains Area. Eighter helps out the village by collecting firewood as he can handle the cold. Unbeknownst to him, the secret lab of his creator Dr. Gero is located not far from the ruins of Muscle Tower. Like most of the Earth’s population, he is ignorant of the Dragon Team’s conflict with the Red Ribbon Androids. The Dragon Team visit the region while on the hunt for Android 20 to prevent him from activating Android 17 and Android 18. After Dr. Gero is killed by 17 & 18 who release Android 16, the Android modelled after Dr. Gero’s deceased son Gevo, the Dragon Team confronts the three Androids, only to be defeated though their lives are spared.
Android 8 however has his own problems, as he confronts two hunters that are engaged in poaching the local Dinosaur population. While he has no problem with people hunting them for food or killing them in self defense, he objects to the poachers hunting of dinosaurs for profit. Fortunately Future Trunks and Krillin are in the area following the battle with 17 & 18. Unaware Eighter is an Android, Future Trunks approaches them and overhears that the poachers have already sent out hunting robots to slay the dinosaurs for them and Android 8 is powerless to stop them. However Future Trunks kindly tells Eighter, he will deal with the robots. After defeating the robots, Future Trunks returns to inform Eighter and the poachers, though the poachers initially refuse to believe it until they realize the robot are no longer producing a signal and are surprised that the young man was able to defeat them, before leaving claiming they’ll get him back.
Eighter thanks Future Trunks for his assistance and notes that he reminds him of his friend Goku, causing Future Trunks to reveal he is an ally of Goku’s as well. However Future Trunks decides not to inform Eighter of Goku’s illness.
Later during the wait for the Cell Games, Goku can encounter Eighter in the forest overlooking Bells Village, at first Eighter doesn’t recognize Goku due to him being in his Super Saiyan Full Power form, but is happy to see his friend. Eighter reveals that he’s been feeling sluggish lately and thinks one of his components is to blame. Goku decides to use Instant Transmission to take Eighter to the Capsule Corporation.
As Bulma is busy working on repairing the damage Android 16 suffered fighting Cell, Goku asks Dr. Brief to help diagnose the problem. Dr. Brief reveals that like Android 16, Android 8 is a Mechanical-type Android albeit an older model which makes repairing him more difficult as Android 17’s blueprints won’t be much help. Though it is a longshot, Goku decides to investigate the ruins of Dr. Gero’s Lab in the hope he may find something to aid Dr. Brief so he can fix Eighter. Returning to the Northern Mountains Area, Goku investigates the wreckage initially only finding broken computers and test tubes. However, eventually he finds some burnt papers which appear to have information on Android 16, though Goku has trouble due to their condition and his limited understanding science in general. Despite this, he hopes the papers are enough information or will make more sense to Dr. Brief so he can use it to help repair Android 8. But, before he can leave, he is confronted by a old Red Ribbon Army Guard Robot which was apparently designed to defend Dr. Gero’s Lab and somehow survived the lab’s destruction. Despite Goku’s Super Saiyan Full Power form, the robot is able to identify Goku (indicating the robot may have specifically been programmed to defend the lab from the hated Goku in the event he ever found Dr. Gero’s Lab). Fortunately the robot is no match for Super Saiyan Full Power Goku. With the robot dealt with, Goku returns to the Capsule Corporation and Dr. Brief is able to use the papers Goku found to successfully repair Eighter who feels better. Additionally introducing him to Dr. Brief, the Android knows he can go to the Capsule Corporation should he require any repairs in the future.
- Post Majin Buu Saga
After the defeat of Kid Buu, it is revealed that fellow Red Ribbon Android 17 has settled down in the Northern Mountains Area with his family and becomes the ranger for Darlinge Polynya allowing him to deal with any poachers targeting the local dinosaur population, thus Eighter doesn’t have to worry about dealing with poachers.
Power
Due to Android 8’s hatred of fighting, the true extent of his power is unknown. However, even after seeing Goku defeat Major Metallitron, an android who previously gave Goku a hard time, General White is still confident that Goku would stand no chance against Android 8. He is durable enough to take a blast from General White’s Powered Gun with no visible effect, which had previously knocked over Goku. When he becomes angered at General White, later on, he punches him with enough force to send him over the mountains, a punch Goku says is even stronger than his own.

- Self Destruct Device: Android 8 can kill himself to create a huge energy wave.
Android 8 using Hikou to fly in Path to Power
- Hikou: Android 8 can fly with great speed as seen in The Path to Power. Being an Android he lacks ki to use Flight and is instead outfitted with a special device that allows him to fly.
- Android Bomb: Like most Androids, Android 8 had a bomb implanted in his chest, giving him the ability to self-destruct. He lost this ability after the bomb was removed by Dr. Flappe. In the video game, Dragon Ball: Origins 2 the bomb is removed by Senbei Norimaki.
Android 8 kicks Staff Officer Black’s Battle Jack
- Eighter’s Anger: Android 8 releases a massive fiery wave of energy similar to Super Explosive Wave. This attack is named and only seen in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. This is most likely inspired by Android 8’s self-destruction ability before the bomb he had was removed by Dr. Flappe.

- Eighter Attack: Android 8 zooms through the air out into the distance with his arm out and flies into the opponent.
- You Hurt Goku!: Android 8’s ultimate attack in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Android 8 attacks the opponent with a punch that sends his opponent reeling. He then repeatedly uses chop and punch-like attacks to beat the opponent further backward, finishing them off with a massive punch that sends them flying across the stage. This move was likely inspired by the punch he used to defeat General White.
- Risking it all for a friend: A technique where the user uses their own body to shield an ally. Used by Android 8 in the manga to shield unconscious Goku from being shot by General White. Thanks to his resilient Android body, Android 8 is unaffected by the shot which hits him in the leg.
- False Courage: A supportive technique that raises the user’s defense capacity by faking bravery through ignorant fearlessness. One of Android 8’s Blast 1 techniques in Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
- Howl: Android 8 howls loudly, which magnifies his power, putting them straight into Max Power mode and increasing their physical attributes. However, once the power wears out, the Android 8 will have a hard time gaining back their ki, making them take a much longer amount of time to be able to use ki-based attacks. One of Android 8’s Blast 1 techniques in Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Brainwashed
In Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans, General White captures Android 8 whom he brainwashes to serve the resurgent Red Ribbon Army. In this form, Eighter’s pupils disappear and he becomes a mindless brute that follows General White’s orders. However after the Dragon Team defeats both Eighter and General White, he is freed from White’s control and reverts back to his true gentle-hearted self.
Video Game Appearances
Android 8 appears in Dragon Ball: Daimaō Fukkatsu, Dragon Ball 3: Gokuden, Dragon Ball Z: Super Gokuden: Totsugeki-Hen, Dragon Ball RPG: Shōnen-hen, and in cutscenes in Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo.
Android 8 in Budokai Tenkaichi 3
He makes his first playable appearance in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Despite being able to fly in The Path to Power and having several moves from this film in the game, Android 8 cannot fly well in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. In an alternate saga, Android 8 protects Goku from Android 16 who was sent to the past by Dr. Gero to assassinate Goku so he wouldn’t destroy the Red Ribbon Army. Although Android 8 manages to defeat Android 16, he spares Android 16 under Goku’s request, partially because he wants to fight him again.
Android 8 in Origins 2
Android 8 is also a playable character in Dragon Ball: Origins 2. After General White’s defeat in the bonus level 2-5, he attacks a Yeti Suno had befriended, thinking it had kidnapped Suno. In bonus level 2-6, Android 8 repairs the Red Ribbon Robot Suno found, after Goku had found the robot’s five missing parts in the snow. In the bonus level 2-7, Android 8 confronts Ninja Murasaki and his brothers in the Muscle Tower to make him stop the bad jokes Murasaki began to make to the population of Jingle Village after General White’s defeat. Android 8 decides to remove the bomb implanted in his chest in bonus level 4-5 and visits Senbei Norimaki in Penguin Village. It is revealed in bonus level 2-8 that while Android 8 was at Penguin Village, Major Metallitron took control of the Muscle Tower after his batteries reloaded and ordered the Muscle Tower soldiers to steal Jingle Village’s supplies. Android 8 then goes to the Muscle Tower and beats Major Metallitron.
In Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans, Android 8 gets captured and brainwashed to be evil in the Muscle Tower by General White. Fortunately, while searching for the Dragon Balls with the other Z-Fighters, Goku (revived by Fortuneteller Baba to assist his friends in finding the Dragon Balls to wish him back in time to face the Saiyans) meets Suno in front of Muscle Tower and she informs him of Eighter’s capture. Wanting to free his old friend, Goku along with his allies journey into Muscle Tower to free Eighter and stop General White’s plans to revive the Red Ribbon Army, though is forced to face both White and the brainwashed Eighter. After White is defeated, Android 8 returns to his good-natured self and is happy to see his old friend Goku. Android 8 then returns to Jingle Village along with Suno.
Though he does not appear in Dragon Ball Xenoverse he is mentioned by Goku when the Future Warrior talks to him (while he is the Warrior’s current Master) wearing the Murasaki-style Ninja Suit (part of the GT Pack 1 DLC), as the suit will remind Goku of Ninja Murasaki and Goku will mention Eighter helping him defeat Murasaki and this causes him to wonder how his friend is doing.
In Dragon Ball FighterZ, he is referenced, as Android 16’s fighter and player avatar color 2 share Android 8’s color scheme. Adding onto this further, Android 16’s Halloween avatar is a direct reference to him, sharing the same exact clothing, facial scars, keeping with the Frankenstein motif.
Android 8 appears as a non playable character in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

- In the Viz manga, Goku calls Android 8 «8-man» while in the anime and Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Goku calls him «Eighter.»
- «8-Man» might be a reference to the manga character of the same name.
- Android 8 bears a heavy resemblance to Boris Karloff’s famous interpretation of Frankenstein’s monster from the Universal film adaptation. On a similar note, Android 8’s backstory in the anime of being a human corpse that was modified into a human-type android and resuscitated via electricity resembles Frankenstein’s monster’s creation.
- Android 8 has also been called Franky, in reference to his resemblance to Frankenstein’s monster.
- His nickname in the Latin American dub, «Octavio», comes from the Latin word octa which means «eight». Octavio is also a real name that is common in the region.
- Android 8 seems to be a nature-loving android, like Android 16. Also, he shares a few other traits with Android 16: they both became friendly (although 16 still shows animosity towards Goku), they loved nature, are much larger than their companions, faced a tragic end, and their deaths fueled enough rage within Goku and Gohan to triumph over the villain that had killed them (Commander Black in the The Path to Power and Cell, respectively).
- It is shown that Android 8 can eat and drink despite being an android, this is shown when he and Goku have dinner at Suno’s house and this occurs in both Manga and Anime.
- Android 17 asserts during the Androids Saga of Dragon Ball Z that Dr. Gero destroyed the first fifteen Androids he designed, which contradicts Android 8’s appearances in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT, presumably either because 17 and 18 never knew of the still alive 8’s whereabouts (since he now lives in Jingle Village), or Dr. Gero lied to the twins about it.
- In Dr. Slump, the character of Frankenstein is a direct parody and reference to the Frankenstein’s monster who appears as one of the residents of Penguin Village. Both characters are apparently based upon the monster from author Mary Shelly’s classic novel Frankenstein.
- Additionally both Frankenstein’s monster and Android 8 are artificial lifeforms created from a human base (the Frankenstein’s monster was created from human corpses and certain sources state Android 8 was created using a human corpse) that rebel against their creators (though unlike Frankenstein’s monster, Eighter remained loyal to his direct creator, Dr. Frappe).
- One of the soldiers that attacks Goku at the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters bears a resemblance to Android 8, especially with the scar on his forehead.

Android 8 (人造人間８号 Jinzōningen Hachi-Gō), who goes by the name Eighter (ハッチャン Hacchan) as suggested by Goku, is Dr. Gero’s eighth Android creation. He is designed to serve the Red Ribbon Army but is seen as faulty because of his good-spirited nature.
Appearance
Android 8 is a android that takes on the form of a large, stocky man resembling Frankenstein’s monster — whom he is presumably based off, with short dark blue hair, a large cylindrical cranium, thick brows, no visible eyebrows, large oval eyes with small pupils, a wide nose, a large jaw, and two stitched scars: one across his forehead, and the other on his left cheek. In Dragon Ball he wears a pale blue sweater underneath a navy blue suit, white socks and black loafers. In Dragon Ball Z, he wears a a green and yellow fur jacket over his suit. In Dragon Ball GT and The Path to Power he wears an orange sweater underneath a teal suit, which in turn is worn under a sheepskin waistcoat. Underneath his clothes, he wears a pair of blue boxer shorts.
Personality
Despite his brutish, menacing appearance, Android 8 is actually a kind, good-natured, placid, docile, and peaceful individual who detests violence, refusing to follow the cruel orders of Ninja Murasaki and General White, which leads to them berating him as a «failure». However, despite his pacifistic nature, Android 8 would fight when angered, as seen when he punched General White out of the Muscle Tower after he had shot Goku.
In Attack of the Saiyans, Android 8 is temporarily brainwashed by General White which alters his personality turning him into a mindless brute that follows White’s orders to the point of even attacking his old friend Goku and the Dragon Team alongside General White though he defeated which frees him of White’s control causing him to revert back to his original personality.
Biography
Background
The activation of Android 8
Android 8 is the eighth of the Red Ribbon Androids created by Dr. Gero. Android 8 was an entirely artificial construct.[2]
In anime filler, it is said that Android 8 was a Human-type Earthling[3][4] who died and was resurrected as a human-based model android by Dr. Flappe on the orders of General White.[5]
To solve the discrepancy of Android 8’s creator, Daizenshuu 7 suggests that Dr. Flappe and Dr. Gero were colleagues both involved with Android 8’s construction.
Dragon Ball
Red Ribbon Army Saga

Android 8 and Goku during the Red Ribbon Army Saga
Being released from his cell, Android 8 is introduced by Ninja Murasaki, who intends to use him against Goku, after he and his brothers failed to defeat the much stronger Goku. However, 8 refuses to battle the child. When Murasaki threatens to detonate 8 via a remote control, Goku knocks the trigger out of his hand and knocks out Ninja Murasaki. Goku nicknames Android 8 «Eighter» (Hat-chan), and he becomes Goku’s friend. When General White threatens the android with an ultimatum: kill Goku or the Jingle Village Chief will be shot, Goku decides to stop the torment by turning his back so that White may shoot him unopposed, and White shoots Goku, seemingly killing him. After witnessing his first friend get hurt, an enraged Android 8 punches White clean out of Muscle Tower’s uppermost window. Afterward, Android 8 proceeds to destroy Muscle Tower, putting an end to at least part of the evil Red Ribbon Army. After eliminating the Army contingent in Jingle Village, 8 reveals that he discovered the Dragon Ball that the army was looking for and hid it, knowing that they intended to kill the villagers once it was found. Hearing this, the head of the village invites 8 to live among them, which he accepts.
Android 8 with Suno
Before Goku leaves the village, Goku, Android 8, and Suno set out to remove the Android Bomb implanted in Android 8’s chest. Suno informs Goku that they should visit Dr. Flappe, an expert in machines. After a brief confrontation with Ninja Murasaki, Dr. Flappe successfully removes the bomb.[6]
King Piccolo Saga

Android 8 is seen again when he goes to rescue Suno after she falls victim to King Piccolo’s assault on King Castle. Android 8’s appearance in «Lost and Found» was his last appearance in the Dragon Ball anime.
Dragon Ball Z
Majin Buu Saga

Android 8’s appearance in Dragon Ball Z
Android 8 makes cameo appearances throughout Dragon Ball Z, the most prominent being during the Kid Buu Saga, when Goku is forming a Spirit Bomb and 8, along with his fellow villagers, supplies Goku with his energy to use against Kid Buu. The fact that he is alive at this time proves that completely artificial life can be revived by the Dragon Balls, as he appears to have been revived along with Earth’s inhabitants after the planet’s destruction by Buu.

Android 8 is very briefly seen in episode 40 of Dragon Ball GT, where he is transported off of Earth by Super Saiyan 4 Goku before it explodes due to the Black Star Dragon Balls.

Android 8 at the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters
Android 8 appears in the The Path to Power, which is a retelling of the early Dragon Ball story altered for theatrical purposes. Android 8 is first seen in Muscle Tower under the control of General White, who orders Android 8 to attack Goku, to which he does. Later, however, Android 8 comes to his emotional feelings and does not want to attack the boy, thus, General White deems Android 8 «a failure», and a waste of the millions of dollars spent on designing him. Goku manages to defeat General White with his Power Pole, saving Android 8’s life before White can blow him up with his self-destruct device. Android 8 and Goku later play in the snow, where Goku names Android 8 «Eighter», delighting the latter. When Goku offers Eighter the chance to join him and his friends on their quest for the Dragon Balls, Eighter decides instead to stay behind and report the RRA members near the tower to the police. One major plot change is that Android 8 is later destroyed by the newly titled Commander Black of the «Black Ribbon Army» at the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters, which causes Goku to snap and push himself into a severely powered up state, allowing him to destroy the giant Battle Jacket that Black is inside, which ultimately kills Black.
After Commander Black is defeated, Goku uses the Dragon Balls to wish Android 8 back to life with the bomb inside of him removed.
Battle of Gods

Android 8 appears in the prologue when the narrator recaps the adventures and rigorous battles fought by Goku and his friends along with their journey to collect the 7 Dragon Balls to make a wish to Shenron whenever they needed them.

Attack of the Saiyans

In Attack of the Saiyans, Eighter finds one of the Dragon Balls near Penguin Village. Unfortunately, General White survived Android 8’s punch and returns to the ruins of Muscle Tower with other Red Ribbon Army members who survived the army’s defeat. They manage to capture Android 8 who is brainwashed to serve the Red Ribbon Army.
However thankfully, Goku had been temporarily revived by Fortuneteller Baba to assist the Dragon Team in collecting the Dragon Balls to revive him to confront the Saiyans. The Dragon Radar leads them to Muscle Tower, where Goku reunites with Suno who informs him of what happened to Eighter and he resolves to save his friend and stop the Red Ribbon Army’s plans once more. General White orders Android 8 to fight the Dragon Team alongside him in an attempt to take revenge on Goku. However neither is a match for Goku and his friends who have been training to confront the Saiyans.
Defeated, Android 8 is freed and reverts to his original personality. After giving the Dragon Ball to Goku and his friends, Eighter returns with Suno to continue his peaceful life in Jingle Village.
Kakarot

Android 8 during his reunion with Goku in Kakarot
In Kakarot, Android 8 appears in the East Ravine Area during the Saiyan Saga Episode 2 when Goku and Piccolo travel to the region while following the Dragon Radar to find his brother Raditz who had abducted his nephew Gohan to force Goku to exterminate the Earthling population.
If Goku speaks to him, this leads to the Sub Story «Gentle Giant«. The introduction cutscene that triggers when Goku speaks to him, his in-game moniker is Kindhearted Android and he is identified by his nickname Eighter.

Goku is surprised to see his old friend who recognizes the now adult Goku. Goku asks what he’s doing in East Ravine and Eighter explains that he heard that some of the Red Ribbon Army’s RR Mech Soldiers had been rampaging in the region and came to stop them. However he notes he dislikes fighting and so Goku who loves to fight offers to take care of the Rampaging Robots for his old friend which Eighter agrees to.
After destroying the robots, Goku returns and informs Android 8 who is relieved that the robots can no longer hurt anyone. Completing this Sub Story, rewards Goku with Eighter’s Soul Emblem for the Community Boards.
Additionally afterwards, Eighter can be encountered in certain areas during different points in the story.

During the first Intermission after the Saiyan Saga, Android 8 can be found visiting the farm near the lake Fish Spot in the West Area of Earth where Gingertown and West City are located.
- Frieza Saga & Intermission 2
During the Frieza Saga Episode 1 and second Intermission after the Frieza Saga, Android 8 can be found near on a stone land bridge near the dinosaur research facility in East Ravine Area. If spoken to, he reveals he’s taking pictures of various locations he is visiting to show to Suno after he returns to Bells Village.
- Cell Saga
During the Android conflict, Android 8 can be found in Bells Village located near Darlinge Polynya in the Northern Mountains Area. Eighter helps out the village by collecting firewood as he can handle the cold. Unbeknownst to him, the secret lab of his creator Dr. Gero is located not far from the ruins of Muscle Tower. Like most of the Earth’s population, he is ignorant of the Dragon Team’s conflict with the Red Ribbon Androids. The Dragon Team visit the region while on the hunt for Android 20 to prevent him from activating Android 17 and Android 18. After Dr. Gero is killed by 17 & 18 who release Android 16, the Android modelled after Dr. Gero’s deceased son Gevo, the Dragon Team confronts the three Androids, only to be defeated though their lives are spared.
Android 8 however has his own problems, as he confronts two hunters that are engaged in poaching the local Dinosaur population. While he has no problem with people hunting them for food or killing them in self defense, he objects to the poachers hunting of dinosaurs for profit. Fortunately Future Trunks and Krillin are in the area following the battle with 17 & 18. Unaware Eighter is an Android, Future Trunks approaches them and overhears that the poachers have already sent out hunting robots to slay the dinosaurs for them and Android 8 is powerless to stop them. However Future Trunks kindly tells Eighter, he will deal with the robots. After defeating the robots, Future Trunks returns to inform Eighter and the poachers, though the poachers initially refuse to believe it until they realize the robot are no longer producing a signal and are surprised that the young man was able to defeat them, before leaving claiming they’ll get him back.
Eighter thanks Future Trunks for his assistance and notes that he reminds him of his friend Goku, causing Future Trunks to reveal he is an ally of Goku’s as well. However Future Trunks decides not to inform Eighter of Goku’s illness.
Later during the wait for the Cell Games, Goku can encounter Eighter in the forest overlooking Bells Village, at first Eighter doesn’t recognize Goku due to him being in his Super Saiyan Full Power form, but is happy to see his friend. Eighter reveals that he’s been feeling sluggish lately and thinks one of his components is to blame. Goku decides to use Instant Transmission to take Eighter to the Capsule Corporation.
As Bulma is busy working on repairing the damage Android 16 suffered fighting Cell, Goku asks Dr. Brief to help diagnose the problem. Dr. Brief reveals that like Android 16, Android 8 is a Mechanical-type Android albeit an older model which makes repairing him more difficult as Android 17’s blueprints won’t be much help. Though it is a longshot, Goku decides to investigate the ruins of Dr. Gero’s Lab in the hope he may find something to aid Dr. Brief so he can fix Eighter. Returning to the Northern Mountains Area, Goku investigates the wreckage initially only finding broken computers and test tubes. However, eventually he finds some burnt papers which appear to have information on Android 16, though Goku has trouble due to their condition and his limited understanding science in general. Despite this, he hopes the papers are enough information or will make more sense to Dr. Brief so he can use it to help repair Android 8. But, before he can leave, he is confronted by a old Red Ribbon Army Guard Robot which was apparently designed to defend Dr. Gero’s Lab and somehow survived the lab’s destruction. Despite Goku’s Super Saiyan Full Power form, the robot is able to identify Goku (indicating the robot may have specifically been programmed to defend the lab from the hated Goku in the event he ever found Dr. Gero’s Lab). Fortunately the robot is no match for Super Saiyan Full Power Goku. With the robot dealt with, Goku returns to the Capsule Corporation and Dr. Brief is able to use the papers Goku found to successfully repair Eighter who feels better. Additionally introducing him to Dr. Brief, the Android knows he can go to the Capsule Corporation should he require any repairs in the future.
- Post Majin Buu Saga
After the defeat of Kid Buu, it is revealed that fellow Red Ribbon Android 17 has settled down in the Northern Mountains Area with his family and becomes the ranger for Darlinge Polynya allowing him to deal with any poachers targeting the local dinosaur population, thus Eighter doesn’t have to worry about dealing with poachers.
Power
Due to Android 8’s hatred of fighting, the true extent of his power is unknown. However, even after seeing Goku defeat Major Metallitron, an android who previously gave Goku a hard time, General White is still confident that Goku would stand no chance against Android 8. He is durable enough to take a blast from General White’s Powered Gun with no visible effect, which had previously knocked over Goku. When he becomes angered at General White, later on, he punches him with enough force to send him over the mountains, a punch Goku says is even stronger than his own.

- Self Destruct Device: Android 8 can kill himself to create a huge energy wave.
Android 8 using Hikou to fly in Path to Power
- Hikou: Android 8 can fly with great speed as seen in The Path to Power. Being an Android he lacks ki to use Flight and is instead outfitted with a special device that allows him to fly.
- Android Bomb: Like most Androids, Android 8 had a bomb implanted in his chest, giving him the ability to self-destruct. He lost this ability after the bomb was removed by Dr. Flappe. In the video game, Dragon Ball: Origins 2 the bomb is removed by Senbei Norimaki.
Android 8 kicks Staff Officer Black’s Battle Jack
- Eighter’s Anger: Android 8 releases a massive fiery wave of energy similar to Super Explosive Wave. This attack is named and only seen in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. This is most likely inspired by Android 8’s self-destruction ability before the bomb he had was removed by Dr. Flappe.

- Eighter Attack: Android 8 zooms through the air out into the distance with his arm out and flies into the opponent.
- You Hurt Goku!: Android 8’s ultimate attack in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Android 8 attacks the opponent with a punch that sends his opponent reeling. He then repeatedly uses chop and punch-like attacks to beat the opponent further backward, finishing them off with a massive punch that sends them flying across the stage. This move was likely inspired by the punch he used to defeat General White.
- Risking it all for a friend: A technique where the user uses their own body to shield an ally. Used by Android 8 in the manga to shield unconscious Goku from being shot by General White. Thanks to his resilient Android body, Android 8 is unaffected by the shot which hits him in the leg.
- False Courage: A supportive technique that raises the user’s defense capacity by faking bravery through ignorant fearlessness. One of Android 8’s Blast 1 techniques in Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
- Howl: Android 8 howls loudly, which magnifies his power, putting them straight into Max Power mode and increasing their physical attributes. However, once the power wears out, the Android 8 will have a hard time gaining back their ki, making them take a much longer amount of time to be able to use ki-based attacks. One of Android 8’s Blast 1 techniques in Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
Forms
Brainwashed
In Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans, General White captures Android 8 whom he brainwashes to serve the resurgent Red Ribbon Army. In this form, Eighter’s pupils disappear and he becomes a mindless brute that follows General White’s orders. However after the Dragon Team defeats both Eighter and General White, he is freed from White’s control and reverts back to his true gentle-hearted self.
Video Game Appearances
Android 8 appears in Dragon Ball: Daimaō Fukkatsu, Dragon Ball 3: Gokuden, Dragon Ball Z: Super Gokuden: Totsugeki-Hen, Dragon Ball RPG: Shōnen-hen, and in cutscenes in Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo.
Android 8 in Budokai Tenkaichi 3
He makes his first playable appearance in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Despite being able to fly in The Path to Power and having several moves from this film in the game, Android 8 cannot fly well in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. In an alternate saga, Android 8 protects Goku from Android 16 who was sent to the past by Dr. Gero to assassinate Goku so he wouldn’t destroy the Red Ribbon Army. Although Android 8 manages to defeat Android 16, he spares Android 16 under Goku’s request, partially because he wants to fight him again.
Android 8 in Origins 2
Android 8 is also a playable character in Dragon Ball: Origins 2. After General White’s defeat in the bonus level 2-5, he attacks a Yeti Suno had befriended, thinking it had kidnapped Suno. In bonus level 2-6, Android 8 repairs the Red Ribbon Robot Suno found, after Goku had found the robot’s five missing parts in the snow. In the bonus level 2-7, Android 8 confronts Ninja Murasaki and his brothers in the Muscle Tower to make him stop the bad jokes Murasaki began to make to the population of Jingle Village after General White’s defeat. Android 8 decides to remove the bomb implanted in his chest in bonus level 4-5 and visits Senbei Norimaki in Penguin Village. It is revealed in bonus level 2-8 that while Android 8 was at Penguin Village, Major Metallitron took control of the Muscle Tower after his batteries reloaded and ordered the Muscle Tower soldiers to steal Jingle Village’s supplies. Android 8 then goes to the Muscle Tower and beats Major Metallitron.
In Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans, Android 8 gets captured and brainwashed to be evil in the Muscle Tower by General White. Fortunately, while searching for the Dragon Balls with the other Z-Fighters, Goku (revived by Fortuneteller Baba to assist his friends in finding the Dragon Balls to wish him back in time to face the Saiyans) meets Suno in front of Muscle Tower and she informs him of Eighter’s capture. Wanting to free his old friend, Goku along with his allies journey into Muscle Tower to free Eighter and stop General White’s plans to revive the Red Ribbon Army, though is forced to face both White and the brainwashed Eighter. After White is defeated, Android 8 returns to his good-natured self and is happy to see his old friend Goku. Android 8 then returns to Jingle Village along with Suno.
Though he does not appear in Dragon Ball Xenoverse he is mentioned by Goku when the Future Warrior talks to him (while he is the Warrior’s current Master) wearing the Murasaki-style Ninja Suit (part of the GT Pack 1 DLC), as the suit will remind Goku of Ninja Murasaki and Goku will mention Eighter helping him defeat Murasaki and this causes him to wonder how his friend is doing.
In Dragon Ball FighterZ, he is referenced, as Android 16’s fighter and player avatar color 2 share Android 8’s color scheme. Adding onto this further, Android 16’s Halloween avatar is a direct reference to him, sharing the same exact clothing, facial scars, keeping with the Frankenstein motif.
Android 8 appears as a non playable character in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

- In the Viz manga, Goku calls Android 8 «8-man» while in the anime and Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Goku calls him «Eighter.»
- «8-Man» might be a reference to the manga character of the same name.
- Android 8 bears a heavy resemblance to Boris Karloff’s famous interpretation of Frankenstein’s monster from the Universal film adaptation. On a similar note, Android 8’s backstory in the anime of being a human corpse that was modified into a human-type android and resuscitated via electricity resembles Frankenstein’s monster’s creation.
- Android 8 has also been called Franky, in reference to his resemblance to Frankenstein’s monster.
- His nickname in the Latin American dub, «Octavio», comes from the Latin word octa which means «eight». Octavio is also a real name that is common in the region.
- Android 8 seems to be a nature-loving android, like Android 16. Also, he shares a few other traits with Android 16: they both became friendly (although 16 still shows animosity towards Goku), they loved nature, are much larger than their companions, faced a tragic end, and their deaths fueled enough rage within Goku and Gohan to triumph over the villain that had killed them (Commander Black in the The Path to Power and Cell, respectively).
- It is shown that Android 8 can eat and drink despite being an android, this is shown when he and Goku have dinner at Suno’s house and this occurs in both Manga and Anime.
- Android 17 asserts during the Androids Saga of Dragon Ball Z that Dr. Gero destroyed the first fifteen Androids he designed, which contradicts Android 8’s appearances in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT, presumably either because 17 and 18 never knew of the still alive 8’s whereabouts (since he now lives in Jingle Village), or Dr. Gero lied to the twins about it.
- In Dr. Slump, the character of Frankenstein is a direct parody and reference to the Frankenstein’s monster who appears as one of the residents of Penguin Village. Both characters are apparently based upon the monster from author Mary Shelly’s classic novel Frankenstein.
- Additionally both Frankenstein’s monster and Android 8 are artificial lifeforms created from a human base (the Frankenstein’s monster was created from human corpses and certain sources state Android 8 was created using a human corpse) that rebel against their creators (though unlike Frankenstein’s monster, Eighter remained loyal to his direct creator, Dr. Frappe).
- One of the soldiers that attacks Goku at the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters bears a resemblance to Android 8, especially with the scar on his forehead.

Андроид — это робот, автомат, напоминающий человека по внешности и поведению. №8 создан учеными армии Красной Ленты (доктором Флаппе и Доктором Геро), абсолютно все его тело создано из искусственных, механических деталей. Естественно для создания использовались высокие технологии и невероятно прочные материалы. Он может продолжать бой даже с ужасающими повреждениями, вроде оторванных конечностей и сквозных ран в теле. И конечно же после его всегда можно восстановить, заменить поврежденные детали на новые и т.п.
- Энергопотребление — для поддержания работы андроиду требуется источник энергии, точно неизвестно какими энергетическими ресурсами, топливом он пользуется. Скорее всего он запасает энергию с помощью мощного аккумулятора способного обеспечить ему весьма продолжительную работу. Так же механизмы андроида невероятно медленно изнашиваются с течением времени, практически сохраняясь в превосходном состоянии в обычных условиях.
- Механическая природа — андроиды фактически не являются живыми существами, что дает им ряд определенных качеств. Они не могут обладать многими навыками, которые доступны живым, однако одновременно с этим они не подвержены, к примеру, к ментальным, эмпатическим, духовным воздействиям и т.п. Ну и конечно для поддержания работоспособности им нужна только энергия, они не имеют зависимости, нужды в пище, питье и т.п.
- Продвинутый искусственный интеллект — андроиды Доктора Геро наделены собственным разумом. Они обладают способностью к самообучению и аналитике. Как люди, они способны сами решать, что им делать, определять личные симпатии и антипатии, испытывать чувства и эмоции, они обладают собственным характером, привычками и т.п. Они обладают свободной волей, но тем не менее она может быть частична ограничена, в виде запрограммированных приказов и команд.
- Вычислительные способности — ввиду своего механического устройства андроид имеет мощные компьютерные, математические, вычислительные способности. Он способен одновременно обрабатывать и работать над большими объемами информации. А так же симулировать феноменальную память и т.п.
Бомба, установленная на сердце
- Рёв — андроид кричит с большой силой, что вызывает звуковую волну, которая может сбить с ног, откинуть ближайших людей, предметы.
- Встроенная бомба — внутри Андроида №8 заложена бомба, которую он может заставить сдетонировать, однако ее мощность не особо велика.
- Хикоу — способность летать не используя Ки, в данном случае с помощью специальных механизмов. Андроид №8 летает с помощью реактивного двигателя, находящегося в нижней части спины.
- Гнев №8 — андроид многократно усиливает мощность двигателя, после чего летя с высокой скоростью наносит удар рукой/ногой или просто таранит выбранную цель всем своим телом.

Смертный — это существо, не являющееся богом, появившееся либо в результате деяния богов, либо в результате деяния смертных. Это общее смысловое обозначение для всех подобных созданий, любой расы и вида. Даже если это существо будет обладать “бессмертием” в каком-либо виде, оно все равно будет являться “смертным”.
- Тело — физическая оболочка существа, в противовес его нематериальных атрибутов. Может быть как биологического, так и искусственного происхождения.
- Душа — один из основных нематериальных атрибутов “Смертного”, переходящий в Иной Мир, после биологической смерти индивидуума.
Душа – это бестелесная субстанция, нематериальная сущность, независимая от тела.
- Иная форма существования – для души безразлично, что станет с ее физическим телом: даже если оно будет обращено в ничто, то это не окажет какого либо влияния на душу, если конечно конкретно она не будет затронута.
- Начальное духовное тело – изначально все души представляют собой чистые, бесформенные духовно-энергетические облака. По мере существования на него записывается личность индивидуума.
- Экстрасенсорные восприятия – у начального духовного тела нет каких-либо органов чувств, но по желанию она спокойно может видеть, слышать, чувствовать, обонять и осязать. Также душа способна ощущать энергию, а также чувствовать иные духовные сущности.
- Бессмертие – души существуют вечно, они не могут умереть от старости или иных естественных причин. Соответственно, это обеспечивает невосприимчивость к способностям, позволяющим вызвать обычную смерть.
- Восстановление — благодаря этой способности душа способна всегда возвращаться в неповрежденное состояние, что бы с ней не произошло, пока в бытии существует сама сущность этой души. Точной предел этой способности неизвестен, но душа регенерирует как минимум из духовных частиц, вероятно, в том числе даже из свободных, воссоздаваясь в ином мире сколько угодно раз.
- Связь – душа будет продолжать восстанавливаться, пока существует иной мир, соответствующие законы, установленные в нем богами, а также пока хранится запись о ней.
- Самообеспечение — душа не нуждается в еде, воде, или воздухе, для ее существования не нужно какой либо особой среды (возможно, даже наличие самого времени не является необходимостью). Естественно, она не подвержена усталости, сну и подобным слабостям. Тем не менее, она на них способна.
- Левитация – все души способны парить в пространстве, летать без использования каких либо дополнительных приспособлений. Это пассивное, естественное состояние, поэтому на это не затрачивается энергия.
- Нематериальность – душа не имеет физической формы и обычно неосязаема для простых людей, благодаря этому способна проникать сквозь материальные преграды и невосприимчива к простым физическим воздействиям. При желании духовное тело способно без каких либо проблем, взаимодействовать с материальным миром.
- Невидимость – как находясь в физической оболочке, так и вне ее, душа невидима, по крайней мере, если она находится в бренном мире.

Акира Торияма так любит роботов, что вы можете назвать Dragon Ball важной частью литературы по ретро-футуризму, и вы, честно говоря, не ошибетесь. Так же, как Dragon Ball — это история боевых искусств, уходящая своими корнями в Уся, это также легкая научная фантастика, в которой есть не только несколько эстетических качеств. Еще до того, как персонажи выйдут в космос, у нас есть: капсульные технологии, искусственный интеллект и дополненные существа. Все помнят, как андроиды играли роль в саге «Сотовый», но Торияма создал «Искусственных людей» еще в третьей части серии: «Армии Красной Ленты».
Андроиды всегда играли роль в мифах Dragon Ball, как в основной истории, так и в дополнительных историях. Однако со всем, что касается Dragon Ball, возникает вопрос: «кто самый сильный?» Перед вами составлен список двадцати самых актуальных Android-приложений во всей франшизе. 20 Eighter

После того, как Гоку был взорван на полпути через Арку Красной Ленты, TaoPaiPai возвращается для мести в 23-м Будокае. На этот раз как киборг.
Первый настоящий злодей Dragon Ball получает хороший импульс для своего финала.
Есть еще один поворот в роли Киборга ТаоПайПая в сюжетной арке, заключающейся в том, что, несмотря на то, что он создан как главный злодей, он существует исключительно для того, чтобы одолеть Тянь Шинхана в первом раунде, завершив тем самым дугу его характера. 17 Меха Фриза

13 Android 13
Титульный злодей из фильма 7, Android 13 — один из самых странных злодеев в этом списке. Учитывая, где фильм падает с точки зрения непрерывности (не то, что это на самом деле канон), подразумевается, что он сильнее, чем доктор Геро и близнецы Android. К сожалению, все в фильме указывает на то, что 13 слабее, чем канонические Android.

Даже в его превосходной форме, просто нерешительный Генки Дама… чтобы победить его. 12 Доктор Геро
Говоря о докторе Геро, этот старый чудак удивительно сложен во всех отношениях. Просто увеличивая свое тело, Геро может превратиться из слабого ученого в того, кто, возможно, соперничает с окончательной формой Фризы с точки зрения власти. Наряду со способностью поглощать Ки, как у Android 19, доктор Геро теоретически может расти еще сильнее. К сожалению, или к счастью для наших героев, он теряет свою жизнь от рук своих собственных творений, прежде чем он действительно может сделать что-то существенное, чтобы доказать свою силу.
11 Будущее Android 18

10 Будущее Android 17
Говоря о временной шкале в будущем, есть также Future Android 17. Как и в основной временной шкале, 17 чуть-чуть сильнее, чем 18, хотя на самом деле он проявляет себя как угроза более ясно. Как в манге, так и в аниме, Future Android 17 несет прямую ответственность за кончину Future Gohan. Конечно, Future Gohan примерно так же силен, как его отец, как Super Saiyan на Namek, но будущее — это не среда для обучения. Это говорит о том, насколько легко Trunks побеждает Future Androids и как Future Gohan был мы можем предположить, что они были только немного сильнее, чем д-р Геро из основного графика.
9 Android 16
Сильнейшее из трио Искусственного человека в Dragon Ball Z также становится самым слабым из группы, когда мы вступаем в Dragon Ball Super . Честно говоря, Android 16 также является единственным персонажем, который полностью потрошен, а не оживлен с помощью Dragon Balls, но это ни здесь, ни там.
16 — любитель природы и всего, что связано с неизбежной кончиной Гоку.
С точки зрения необузданной мощи, Android 16 — единственный Android, которому действительно удается вести серьезную борьбу с Cell в любой точке дуги. 8 Cell Junior

7 Cell
Говоря о Селле, предпоследний злодей из Dragon Ball также является одним из сильнейших. Его существование совершенно бессмысленно, когда вы пытаетесь укоренить его в каноне, но, тем не менее, он силен.
4 Android 18
Dragon Ball Super был гораздо добрее для Android 18, чем Dragon Ball GT для нее. 3 Супер Android 17
В результате объединения Android 17 и Hell Fighter 17 в Dragon Ball GT Super Android 17 стал предпоследним злодеем серии. Он не так опасен, как Малыш, но он представляет достаточно угрозы, чтобы почти победить Гоку. На самом деле, то, как Гоку на самом деле заканчивается победой, часто высмеивается фанатами из-за того, что из ниоткуда и сравнительно абсурдно это к поражению Бэби. По сути, Super Android 17 должен был выиграть бой, основываясь на том, как они сражались. Со словом «Super» в его названии легко думать, что Super Android 17 — самое сильное изображение персонажа, но есть другой Super, который делает его немного лучше.
2 Android 17
Честно говоря, просто невероятно, насколько сильным стал Android 17 в прыжке с Dragon Ball Z от Dragon Ball Super . В то время как Dragon Ball GT также дал ему заметный прирост мощности, Super 17 обработал на совершенно другом уровне. В GT Гоку смог победить Super Android 17 в своей базовой форме после изнашивания его в Super Saiyan 4. В Super Android 17 наносит урон Джирену, персонажу, которого не мог причинить вред даже Super Saiyan Evolution Vegeta.
Будьте осторожны, кого вы называете слабым в Dragon Ball Z.
Конечно, 17 только наносит ему урон только через скрытую атаку, но это мало что меняет. Дело в том, что он сражается умно и сильно бьет. С точки зрения реальной власти, фанаты ставят его на уровень Super Saiyan Blue, но его подвиги, похоже, указывают на то, что он находится вокруг Super Saiyan God Goku. В любом случае ему удалось достичь уровня силы Бога, просто тренируясь небрежно.
1 Android 21
Android 21 может быть не совсем каноном, но она была разработана самим Ториямой, и это должно что-то значить. Андроид 21 — это не только Маджин, но и искусственный человек. По сути, это супер-детище Маджин Буу и Селл. Или Majin Buu и Android 18. Или буквально любой Majin и любой Android, но также увеличенный, чтобы соответствовать боевой мощи, показанной в Dragon Ball Super .
Она не может быть каноном, но она может нанести один удар.
Дело в том, что она сильная. Насколько она сильна, от Z-Fighters требуются совместные усилия только для того, чтобы победить ее. Имея это в виду, она, скорее всего, на уровне Super Saiyan God / light Super Saiyan Blue. Можно утверждать, что Android 17 на самом деле немного сильнее, учитывая его показ в Турнире Силы, но 21 обладает способностью быть неканоническим на ее стороне.
Dragon Ball — древняя, как говно мамонта, но от этого не менее винрарная манга (аниме, игры и несмётное количество контента) за авторством Акиры Ториямы. Наравне с Кулаком Северной Звезды является прародителем современных боевых сёненов, многие из которых даже сейчас являются практически полной копипастой сабжа.

Автор манги увлекался рисованием ещё со школьной скамьи. При этом, он был (и до сих пор является) знатным троллем — его работы выглядят гротескно, будто бред шизофреника, имеют такой же сюжет и часто содержат порой крайне тупой юмор. При всём этом, он умудряется быть невероятно популярным как у себя на родине, так и за рубежом. Увы, у нас он не прижился по очевидным причинам.
Суть[править]
Начиналось всё безобидно, как в Dr. Slump — маленький хвостатый мальчик по имени Сон Гоку ловит на свой зад приключения вместе с такими же, как он, безбашенными друзьями, в процессе выпиливания мирового зла[1] участвуя в войне правок турнирах боевых исскуств и творя разнообразную поебень. Особняком здесь стоит так называемый «Драконий Жемчуг» (англ. Dragon Balls) — сет магических предметов, способных на всё[2], что в силах выполнить их создатель. В первой части манги и одноимённом аниме эти жемчужины являются очень важной частью сюжета.
А вот во второй части (и аниме-сериале с заголовком Z) все эти приключения отходят на второй план. На первый, соответственно выходит разнообразная НЁХ: инопланетные викинги-сайяне (к которым и принадлежит ГГ), странный загробный мир, разнообразные трансформации, путешествия во времени и многое другое. Самое смешное в том, что все эти элементы в целом оставляют неизгладимое впечатление на любого зрителя.
Алсо, кроме оригинальной манги и двух аниме-сериалов, имеет дохрена продолжений, приквелов и разнообразного ориджинал-контента в виде фильмов, спиноффов, игр и т.д, и т. п.
Аниме[править]
Оба оригинальных аниме-сериала отличились отвратным по сегодняшним меркам качеством, безблагодатной озвучкой и совершенно не подходящим саундтреком (кроме нескольких очень даже винрарных песен, навроде Unmei no Hi). Тем не менее, западному и лунному анонимусу пришлось по нраву, что заставило Toei Animations повысить планку качества, благодаря чему уже с начала девяностых сериал стал выглядеть очень даже недурно.
Пиндосы же, по традиции, обосрались с дубляжем, по привычке (которую унаследовал б-гомерзкий 4Kids) не переведя, а переиначив реплики героев. Получилось, естественно, не очень. Единственное, что достойно упоминания — в целом хороший подбор актёров озвучки и эпически винрарный саундтрек от команды Брюса Фолконера, по мнению многих анонимусов, как нельзя лучше подходящий к происходящему на экране[3].
К слову, с ремастером DBZ пиндосы обошлись куда как мягче — музыку (вполне себе вин) не меняли, все реплики перевели, как надо, даже сцены не меняли.
У Dragon Ball Super, тем временем, имеется два громких недочёта: кривая анимация поначалу и дырявый сюжет.

В плане мемов Dragon Ball — вещь очень даже вкусная.
- IT’S OVER 9000!!! — nuff said, см. соответствующую статью.
- SHOOP DA WHOOP — то же самое.
- Смерти Криллина — среди фоннатов бытует мнение, что Криллин (норм. Куририн, потому что от слова 栗, что соответствует его внешности) как-то слишком часто сливает и отправляется в мир иной. Подобную репутацию имеет и Ямча, а всё из-за того, что эта парочка просто перестала адекватно вписываться в сюжет к тому моменту, когда упоротую эпичность замесов уже перестало хоть что-то сдерживать вообще. Что, впрочем, не отменяет того факта, что они невероятно сильны по сравнению с остальными людишками, а под конец и вовсе могли бы лично навалять ранним злодеям.
- Piccolo Dick, оно же Daily Dose [1] — гифка, на которой зелёный человечек Пикколо поёбывает Веджиту. На форчане одно время ее постили так часто, что в итоге стало достаточно запостить любое сочетание зеленого и фиолетового цветов с припиской «Дневная доза», чтобы напомнить анону о непотребстве. В ответ принято писать «Спасибо, доктор!»
- Team Four Star запилила винрарнейшую пародийную переозвучку — The Abridged Series, в которой в роли Фризы поучаствовал сам LittleKuriboh, создатель TAS как жанра. Как ни странно, логики в ней чуть ли не больше, чем в оригинале. А сколько мемов она породила…

- Главной жемчужиной данной пародии является Мистер Попо — в оригинале самый обычный джинн/прислужник Б-га (с лёгким флёром расизма по мнению активистов), в пародии TFS он превратился в самого натурального всесильного, способного ломать «четвёртую стену» Чёрного Властелина. Со слов создателей пародии, вся вселенная DBZA — это «песочница» Мистера Попо, где он может делать всё, что захочет (чем невозбранно и пользуется).
- Супер-сайян (мун. 超サイヤ人) — основная фишка франшизы. Суть такова: эта трансформация делает из обычного поциэнта натурального уберменша, усиливая его раз в 50, при этом оный начинает светиться, аки новогодняя ёлка: волосы становятся жёлтыми, глаза — зелёными, ещё и моча бьёт в голову, из-за чего часто совершаются необдуманные поступки. Сама концепция оказалась настолько запоминающейся и настолько прочно ассоциируется с Драгон Боллом, что впоследствии большинство подобных левел апов в жанре либо копипастят сс, либо пародируют его. - Собственно, супер-сайян, описанный выше. Достигается за счёт обладания высоким уровнем силы в момент жесточайшего баттхёрта[4]. Свежепревращённый поциэнт крайне зол, эгоистичен, испытывает тягу к раздаче затрещин. Словом — настоящий битард.
- Впервые показана в главе 317, где ГГ трансформируется из-за злости на Фризу — ящерика, убившего его лучшего друга. Также имеет две формы, в которых поциэнт раздувается из-за мышечной массы и становится ещё сильнее, но медленнее.

- Супер-сайян 2 (мун. 超サイヤ人) — вторая стадия болезни. Если поциэнт сумел освоить первую форму до такой степени, что способен поддерживать её даже во сне, и она не влияет на МНУ поциэнта… то всё приходится начинать сначала: необученный супер-сайян 2й стадии крайне агрессивен, даже если на «первом уровне» и мухи не обидит.
- Первым эту форму освоил сын ГГ в бою против терминатора из будущего.

- Супер-сайян 3 — выгодно отличается от предыдущих стадий тем, что крайне напряжна для организма кастующего: даже впервые показавший её ГГ утверждал, что не смог бы трансформироваться, будучи живым. Кроме этого, примечательна огромным хаером, надбровными дугами размером с МПХ Рона Джереми и видимыми зрачками. Впрочем, зрителям эта форма запомнилась больше из-за лулзового крика, издаваемого ГГ.

- Супер-сайян 4 — неканонная трансформация из Dragon Ball GT. Для овладения её нужно не только уметь в первую стадию, но и контролировать себя после превращения в Оозару (мун. 大猿, буквально «Большая Обезьяна») — эдакого оборотня на японский лад. Поциэнт при этом покрывается красной шерстью, обзаводится модной бритой грудью и подкрашенными глазами.

- Бог Супер-саян (англ. Super Saiyan God) — с помощью несложного ритуала любой законопослушный анонимус-сайян может получить силу Б-га. Что, впрочем, не помешало Гоку получить пиздюлей от смотрящего за Вселенной, Бога Разрушений Бируса. Алсо, имеет улучшенную форму, Голубого Супер-сайяна (англ. Super Saiyan Blue или же Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan), что есть суть улучшенный контроль над божественной силой.

- Веджита так и вовсе умудрился получить улучшенную форму SSB, причём во время драки с Джиреном.

- Особняком стоит Броли, чья вариация супер-сайяна крайне интересна: трёхметровая перекачанная детина с зелёными волосами, пустыми глазами, ОГРОМНОЙ силой и ещё большей НЕНАВИСТЬЮ к ГГ. Единственный злодей, получивший сразу три ЧЕТЫРЕ фильма, последний из которых и вовсе „канонизировал“ Броли как персонажа (правда, третий фильм — ещё то УГ).
- Местные боги отличаются тем, что нихуя не делают, но много пиздят, лишь иногда помогая протагонистам. А иногда и вовсе злодействуют, как Замасу.
- Уровень силы — собственно, уровень силы персонажей. В самом начале второй части манги (которая стала DBZ), и до самой драки с Фризой уровни силы служили показателем крутости героев. Впоследствии о них все забыли, так как собственно сила персонажей начала достигать космических величин (даже у самых слабых из них, как Криллин). В контексте интернетов фраза „Спрячь свою силу“ (англ. Hide your power level) обозначает совет отаку не палиться.
- Луну пополам — невероятно эпичный момент в одной из серий, где хадукен камехамеха Гоку достигает такой абсурдной мощи, что он просто нахрен раскалывает лучом Луну на две части. Тайтл уже был известен своим принципом «эпичность важнее реализма», однако этот момент оказался настолько незамутнённо абсурдным и то же время как то по детски наивно эпичным, что быстро стал лаконичным воплощением всей невинно-упоротой эпичности сабжа, частично подготовив фанатов к более поздним замесам в манге, где герои устраивали локальный армагеддон в каждом втором бое.
- Самое смешное, что мастер Роши (наставник ГГ во времена отрочества оного) и вовсе уничтожил Луну, чтобы предотвратить превращение воспитанника в гигантскую злую обезьяну.
- Среди шипперов очень популярна тема отношений Бульмы и Веджиты. Особого цимеса составляет тот факт, что в оригинальной манге Бульма была девушкой локального бабника и долбоёба Ямчи, однако бросила его из-за измен, в тоже время, Z изображает её как весьма любвеобильную даму. The Abridged Series так и вовсе преврщает её в нифмоманку, что в одном из эпизодов даже по незнанию текла от собственного сына (нехило напугав оного). Таким образом, оригинальный Драгон Болл является редким примером, где шипперы сруться не из-за кораблей, а из-за самих изображаемых отношений. Впрочем, ситуация несколько поправляется с выходом Супера, известного тем, что хотя фанаты 100 с лишним серий ожидали перспектив юрийного развития между одной парой героинь, а в итоге ВНЕЗАПНО получили юри и глум над лесбийским махо-сёдзё совершенно от других персонажей, о которых вообще мало кто заботился. В остальном, франшиза довольно бедна на романтику и какие-либо корабельные войны, хотя ещё первые манга/сериал имели вполне открытого персонажа гея, чья ориентация изображалась как забавная, но вполне обычная вещь.
- Ультра-Инстинкт — особая, уличная божественная магия, доступная лишь сверхсильным мастерам БИ (что, однако, не помешало ГГ её освоить, причём в процессе потасовки под названием Турнир Силы. Более того, технически, УИ может освоить любой мастер БИ, если постарается, хоть сайян, хоть человек, хоть бомж из подвала). Причём магия настолько сильная, что тело юзера само атакует и защищается. Тем не менее, даже такого персонажа можно опиздюлить, что доказал Джирен (см. ниже). В интернетах знаменита в первую очередь своей заезженой темой из Dragon Ball Super и мемом про Мощного Шэгги.
- Джирен Серый (Jiren образовано от слова renji, что на мунспике значит «Печкин печка») — «смертный, что сильнее богов». Сферический паладин в вакууме, один из самых сильных персонажей франшизы (если не самый сильный). Угнетатель рожей, уроженец 11й вселенной, прославился тем, что с одного удара выносил многих сильных соперников.
- Даже Сон Гоку, та ещё имба, смог победить его чисто благодаря командной работе и самопожертвованию.
IRL[править]
Сабж породил тонны фоннатов по всему миру (даже в этой стране), превосходя в этом даже приснопамятные Кусок с Нарутой.

То, что мы видим — это лишь параллельная вселенная, где всё хорошо.

В оригинальной временной линии полный пиздец. Главный протагонист помер, схватив триппер сердечный вирус. Остальных же почти в полном составе перебили два злобных киборга, которые позже превратили мир в натуральный постапокалипсис.
Из живых — лишь треть населения, Гохан, сын ГГ, постоянно огребающий от киборгов в попытках спасти мир, и Транкс, похожий на Джона Коннора малолетний сын Веджиты с матерью, отличающийся от своего папаши не в пример более мягким характером. В конце концов, Гохан огребает немного больше, чем надо, что и так ухудшило не без того поганое положение людей, а Транкса одарило нехилой такой психической травмой.
Дошло даже до того, что мать подростка построила машину времени, чтобы если не притащить из прошлого помощь, так хоть сына подальше сплавить. Затея почти зафейлилась из-за Сэлла в одном из вариантов будущего.
Но на этом проблемы не закончились. Явившийся из ниоткуда Чёрный Гоку (в другом переводе — Гоку Блэк), ёбнутый на всю голову божок из другой вселенной, продолжил славное дело киборгов, почти под корень изведя человечество. На этот раз всё оказалось гораздо хуже — местному создателю интернетов вселенной пришлось уничтожить всю вселенную, чтобы избавиться от чокнутого врага. Выжили только сам Админ, Транкс и его тян.
